Village Taroko is on a plateau surrounded by mountains of subtropical rain forest, which has been thriving more than ever due to the protection of the National Park. To help guests realize more about Village Taroko, we present several exclusive guided tours that provide a completely different view of the Taroko National Park.

Behind Village Taroko stands a peculiar cliff, named Moon Hill Rock, on which you can see the entire Bruwan plateau as well as the Liwu River running east through layers of mountains. At the end of the river are Taroko’s old villages Shila-an and Badagun, and just within view is the Juilu Old Trail, built by the Japanese to enlist natives during the period of Japanese occupation. Recollecting the past, one can have a vivid vision of the natives defending against the invading Japanese from the hilltop.
From Village Taroko a trail cuts through the rain forest up the Moon Hill Rock. Along the trail you can see remains left by early aborigines of the Taroko Tribe. The enormous rock, protruding from the hill, gives an exciting and rewarding climbing experience, and the scenes from the peak are both breathtaking and unforgettable!
This adventurous tour takes roughly three to four hours. When you reach the top of the rock, the spectacular view along with a cup of hot coffee will guarantee a memorable episode.

Activity details:
1. The above tours are led by climbing expert Guan-cheng Chang(張冠正), with maximum of 10 people and minimum of 4 per trip. Please pay close attention to the itinerary and safety instructions.
2. During the trip, please ensure that safety equipments are carried at all times and all members follow the tour guide’s instructions. Please inform the tour guide if you need a rest or feel unwell.
3. We do not recommend visitors under 13 years old, with high blood pressure, or with hypsiphobia(fear of height) join this trip.
4. Please sign up for the trip at the counter by 6 PM the day before departure. Please fill in personal information, height, weight, and shoe size for the purpose of insurance and personal equipments.
5. The tour Moon Hill Rock is NT$1000 per person,Lichin Waterfall is NT$1500 per person( registration and ID cards required), with NT$2,000,000 travel insurance and NT$200,000 medical insurance.
